Words: I have been writing stories for most of my life. My early published works were non-fiction and included a study that became a text book for all U.S. military officers stationed in Latin America, and a U.S. patent. I published my first commercial non-fiction book on business self-improvement in 2003. I sold 3,000 copies and was on my way.
In 2008, with a nudge from Deseret Book Company, I published my second book, a work of fiction. Since then I have published five non-fiction works and seven works of fiction. I have two more fiction novels in the graphic design process and a children's book with the artist. Fragrances: I owned a personal care products company and loved the organic chemistry. With a line of anti-foot fungal treatments, hair and beard volumizers, moisturizers, and other products, I found I really enjoyed the fragrance development, because of the story they also told. I have since sold the organic chemistry company and focus on creating signature scents for the characters in my novels. |
About stories and aromas and why they are so powerful together
Stories and smells have been hanging around together since tales were told by a fire. The ability to process, remember and communicate stories is humankind’s oldest and best tool to create meaning. Combined with the most powerful of the physical senses, smell, the Story Alchemist offers a new level of storytelling.
Science has discovered that at 16 weeks [in utero], the unborn baby can smell what their mother is eating, because scent passes through the amniotic fluid. Our experience with stories begins before we are born! Along with our books, Story Alchemist offers the signature scents of some of our most interesting characters. They are available together or separately. Senseful storytelling at its best. |
